There should not be anything wrong with dressing the way you want, as long as you don't look like a hooker.. .actually if a hooker walks into a church that might be good for her maybe it will change her dirty ways.

by marmot infrom my experience growing up in the jws there were two big recurring themes when it came to making money: .
1 - window washing or other janitorial work .
2 - cheezy "get rich quick" schemes and other cult-like sales practices .

That is sad if it still is, making people believe that window washing will get them far in life. Okay so maybe it makes money, but what about their education? If they are busy all day washing windows do they have time for anything else?

two witnesses who witness the alleged event.. God see's all.. so that's one witness and the one human who saw the alleged event.. so there's two.... or whould that equal four? The human, God/Holy spirit/ Jesus. since the JW are taught that these three are different.

I always hear of how the JW never disobeys God's wishes then I hear of stories like this... like the last poster stated, just shows that JW is no different. I'm sure other religions more then we know have done the same thing.

Oh do I HEAR you on this one! I hade five kids in ten years and trying to keep them in "regular" clothes for school and play, was a feat in itself---never mind getting them all outfitted in dress shoes and different meeting clothes three times a week (and for field service!)Assemblies and conventions had to be planned for waaaaay in advance. Thank goodness they had "layaways" at Walmart back then, haha!
And they tell you not to spend money on "wordly" things.. last I heard Clothing was "wordly" lol

It's probably one of those where the publisher wants the money up front so they know exactly how many books are being read. Chances are when a person buys a book it is going to get read. If the book store has them on the shelf people, unless they know about it will be wondering what it is. I know, before this board, I didn't know what the book was. I heard about it but didn't even think that I would want to read it. Now I do. I'm still searching a few library's then if I cannot find it I'll order it.

by BIG D inif we are made in gods image, then we must have at least some of his reasoning ability, and we have many thoughts on why god would punish all mankind and their offspring for 1000s of years, torture and kill many, for the testing of adam and eve, god said it was good, then why do you have to test them, it was all good right?.
i have great kids, but if i put candy in front of them, and i say dont eat this, they will eat that candy, maybe not tday, but it will come up missing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
and when it is mising, will i punish them , and all there kids for 6000 years, even torture my oldest son for there candy eating, seems like cruelty, god of love???????????

by jambon1 inas i read it on your posts, it seems that at your assemblies there were candy machines which you were somehow forbiden to use.. am i right?.
it just seems ridiculous to me!
